In terms of your things, what does your space (studio/office/living area) look like?

I have a few areas in the house that I work in, and we have little collected treasures stored in every nook and cranny of the house.

In our basement, my husband Curtis and I share a printmaking studio which consists of a table that can only manage to stay clear if we are in the middle of a project (and then gets hopelessly stockpiled when not in use with other collections, obsessions and junk.) The shelves that hold the printmaking supplies are jammed and loosely organized into teetering piles of sketchbooks, jars of fabric silk-screening ink, paintbrushes, squeegees and screens. Upstairs I have a tiny drawing studio that holds an enamel desk we hauled home from an alley in Montreal, a wall of art I love, a computer and a tablet… This is where I have been most productive over the last year as I have just enough room to paint ink comics and/or doodle on my tablet. It’s sunny and cozy and it’s next door to my napping toddler.

Where do you normally get your things?
Alleys, the sidewalk, thrifting, art-supply stores and friends.
